
The Alfred-Hornell American Association of University Women sponsored a writing competition for grade 4 students. The students wrote essays about a woman from history who they admire.
Gwyneth Phelps was selected as the winner, she received a medal and certificate for writing about Marie Curie. Honorable mention certificates were also given to three students: Carter Kuhn for his essay on Mae Jemison, Adelyn Yanni for her essay on Alex Morgan, and Declan Button for his essay on Mary Seacole.





A reminder to our Arkport-Canaseraga athletic Families:
We will have our end-of-the-year varsity athletic awards and senior athlete recognition on Friday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the William S. Locke Performing Arts Center at Arkport Central School.
There will be pictures for senior athletes and their parents before in the back lobby.

On Tuesday, May 21, Arkport Central School District voters will decide on the proposed 2024-25 school year budget.
Voting will take place in the Arkport Small Gymnasium from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. We invite community members to learn more about the proposed budget on the Arkport website.


Arkport recently had its inaugural Seniors vs. Superiors' softball game. The Superiors, made up of Arkport staff members, took the win in the sixth inning.
Senior Ben Leibham and high school teacher Jordan Kramer each had grand slams for their team. It was an amazing event for the staff, seniors, and the Arkport community. Next spring, the Superiors will defend their title against the Class of 2025.

Arkport seniors will be facing off against faculty and staff during a softball game on Thursday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. on the youth softball field.
Concessions will be open and all are invited!


There will be an informational meet and greet for the combined Hornell and Arkport Football program on Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m. in the Large Gym in Arkport. All interested students and parents are encouraged to attend this meeting.

The 2024-25 school budget presentation is on May 14, at 6 p.m. The presentation will take place in the Flex Room.
There will be a regularly scheduled Board meeting immediately following the budget presentation in the Board of Education room.

Arkport Summer Camp is back for another year! Registration will open on Tuesday, April 30th, at 6 p.m. on Family ID. On Monday, April 29th, an informational letter will be sent home with all Kindergarten through 5th grade students. We look forward to a summer filled with learning and fun.


Six Arkport students were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). The NTHS is an international honor society that recognizes outstanding student achievement in Career and Technical Education.
