Earlier this month, Ibrahim Ford was awarded the William Lentz Scholarship for the Medium-Small School Division. This award goes to a senior who has shown dedication to their academics and to the Allstars program. He was one of just five participants in the entire program to receive this great honor. Congratulations Ibra!

Five Arkport seniors were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at GST's Wildwood BOCES Campus. Congratulations!
Students: Jacob Gillman (Building Trades), Sarah Smith (Heavy Equipment), Elizabeth Muhleisen (Professional Business Financial Technology), Anna Smith (Cosmetology), and Grace Groves (New Visions Medical).

Each year, one or more seats on the Arkport Board of Education become available as current members' terms come to an end. Incumbent members may choose to seek re-election, and any eligible district resident is welcome to run for an open seat. This year, there is one open seat.

Candidates are required to gather signatures of endorsement from district residents in order to appear on the ballot. Signature petitions are currently available upon request.
Completed petitions must be returned to the District Clerk no later than Monday, April 20. For more information or to obtain a petition, please contact District Clerk Meghann Khork at mkhork@arkportcsd.org.
The school board election and budget vote will be held on Tuesday, May 19.

We were pleased to host a welcome reception for our new Superintendent, Mr. Peter Reynolds, following last night’s Board of Education meeting. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff to meet Mr. Reynolds as he prepares to join the Arkport Central School District. Mr. Reynolds will officially begin his role on April 9, and he has expressed his excitement to join the ACS team and work with our students, staff, and families.

This week, we celebrate the incredible impact our school social worker, Kyleigh Recktenwald, makes every single day. From supporting students’ mental health and emotional well-being to partnering with families, staff, and communities, school social workers are a vital part of creating safe learning environments.

Thank you for being a steady presence and a powerful champion for students.

There will be a Special Board of Education Meeting in the Flex Room on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m.

School Resource Officer Appreciation Day will be celebrated on February 15. Before we leave for break, ACS wanted to be sure to recognize and thank our School Security Officer, Steve Groves, for keeping our school safe, building relationships with students, and always being someone we can trust.

We appreciate everything you do for our school community! Thank you for your dedication, Security Steve! 🛡

Thank you to our school counselors for always supporting, and helping students find their way, academically, socially, and emotionally. We appreciate everything you do for our students at ACS! 

February is Love the Bus Month! 🚌

Thank you to our amazing bus drivers at ACS for transporting our students safely to and from school and sporting events. Their hard work and dedication keep our district moving! 😁

Holiday Trivia Night is coming! The Student Government invites you to a jolly night of fun, facts, and friendly competition on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Arkport PAC.

Join us for the Winter Band & Choral Concert on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. in the William S. Locke Performing Arts Center. 🎶

Please note that the capital project vote will also take place on Dec. 9, from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. in the small gym. Community members are encouraged to plan accordingly so they can both enjoy the concert and participate in the vote.
