We’ve been receiving some questions about school supply lists. As a reminder, the district purchased three years’ worth of school supplies for all students in 2018. We will not be sending out a school supply list.
Q: How will the district communicate positive cases of COVID-19 in the event schools are reopened?
A: The district will work with the state and local health departments to communicate the possible COVID-19 exposure. This communication with the school community will align with the communication plan in the school’s emergency operations plan. In such a circumstance, it is critical to maintaining the confidentiality of the student or staff member as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The district’s final virtual reopening session will take place Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. This meeting will be streamed live, barring any technical difficulties, on our website, Facebook page and YouTube channel. http://arkportcsdny.apptegy.us/article/285294?org=arkportcsd
In-person reopening meetings will be held on Aug. 17 for PK-6 families and Aug. 19 for 7-12 families. The last virtual reopening meetings will be held on Aug. 18. Arkport Central School District will hold two in-person and two virtual meetings for parents and community members between Aug. 13 and Aug. 19. All four sessions will cover general reopening information and will feature an opportunity to answer questions.
