The board of education will hold a meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.
This past week, Mrs. Feenaughty, took a crew of four seniors up to RIT for national portfolio day. There, Bella, Jenna, Yasmin ford, Sedona had their collections of artwork reviewed by representatives from colleges they intend to apply to and received their feedback. We got dinner at chipotle to celebrate their courage (it isn't easy to be so vulnerable) and their dedication to their craft.

So the vote is in! ACS students in grades PK-8 like chickpeas! Over 200 students tried and voted on today's item, toasted ranch chickpeas!

Even our students need substitutes once and awhile. Samiksha in 5th grade stepped up and read our announcements today. Samiksha speaks four languages! Can you imagine reading the announcements in front of the whole school in your non-native language?? Please make sure that you let her know how awesome she is if you see her.
It only seems fitting that we are making this announcement during homecoming week. as Mel Harwood has helped shape Arkport athletics for over 30 years. On September 10th, Mel Harwood, retired Arkport teacher and coach was inducted into the NYSSCOGS (New York State High School Girls Soccer) Hall of Fame! As a long time coach under both the Blue Jay and Wolves mascot, Mel has had an impact on Arkport girls soccer that is hard to measure. Congratulations Mel! #ArkportPride

Hello, Arkport community. Unfortunately, during a storm this week, one of the school's most iconic trees suffered heavy damage. The oak tree that is located on the hill behind the track split during heavy wind, revealing extensive rot. While we will not be able to save the tree, the board of education has committed to saving as much lumber from the tree as possible and replanting an oak tree for future generations. This lumber will be incorporated into future building projects for the Arkport agriculture program.
Tonight's board of education has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 16.
It was a great weekend for A-C track. The boys track team just missed out on a spot for the State track meet, but they beat the school track meet record for total points set in 1984! Not only did Pierce secure his second trip to States with a win in the steeplechase, he also won the Snyder award for outstanding male track athlete! Way to go, Pierce and A-C wolves track.
