Hello, Arkport community. Unfortunately, during a storm this week, one of the school's most iconic trees suffered heavy damage. The oak tree that is located on the hill behind the track split during heavy wind, revealing extensive rot. While we will not be able to save the tree, the board of education has committed to saving as much lumber from the tree as possible and replanting an oak tree for future generations. This lumber will be incorporated into future building projects for the Arkport agriculture program.
Tonight's board of education has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 16.
It was a great weekend for A-C track. The boys track team just missed out on a spot for the State track meet, but they beat the school track meet record for total points set in 1984! Not only did Pierce secure his second trip to States with a win in the steeplechase, he also won the Snyder award for outstanding male track athlete! Way to go, Pierce and A-C wolves track.
