Arkport Central School District was placed on a five-minute lockout at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7 after receiving a report from the Steuben County Sheriff's Department about an alleged incident three miles away in Hornell.

During a lockout, students and staff are instructed to stay in the building, and no one is allowed into or out of the building.

The lockout was lifted at 11:35 a.m. upon hearing from law enforcement that there was no longer a safety concern.

We want to use this time to thank our local law enforcement and school community for their continued efforts to ensure the safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns about today’s events or the district’s safety measures, please contact your building principal.
