Students stand behind a projected portrait by Van Gogh

On Friday, March 11, students from Mrs. Feenaughty’s Advanced Art I and ACE Essentials of Art classes took a field trip to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience at The Dome.

The event, which has been held in various cities around the world, came to Rochester early this year. The experience was a more interactive way to view a collection of artworks, as it was set up in a large open space and images and videos of Vincent Van Gogh’s works were projected onto walls, props and floors. The collection was accompanied with animations, narrations, and music. An incredible mix of traditional art augmented with technology, the artworks came to life as the students walked through the exhibit. In other words, the students were completely enveloped in Van Gogh’s work.
