Six students standing in a row practicing their golf swing

Fifth- and sixth-grade students culminated their physical education class’ golf unit with a field trip to the Hornell Golf Club. There, students practiced the golf skills they learned at school such as gripping a club, putting, chipping, using long irons and hitting off trees and enjoyed ice cream from The Pit Stop.

The district would like to note that this golf unit was a true community effort. The golf clubs were donated to our school by faculty/staff members, staff at Twin Hickory and residents of the Arkport community.

We’d like to thank everyone who donated their golf clubs as well as the Hornell Golf Club and Pit Stop.
