capital

On Dec. 9, Arkport voters approved a $11.3 million proposed capital project by a vote of 63 (yes) to 48 (no). There is no additional tax increase for this project.

The capital project advances the District’s ongoing commitment to school safety and the long-term preservation of its facilities. The approved work is designed to strengthen learning environments, improve daily operations, and support the overall student experience.

The plan authorizes essential infrastructure upgrades and preventative maintenance aimed at protecting the community’s investment in its schools ensuring buildings remain safe, reliable, and efficient for years to come.

Key components of the project include repaving the bus garage, replacing outdated HVAC systems, and reconstructing the loading dock to improve efficiency and safety.

“We are very appreciative of the community support for our capital project,” said Interim Superintendent Matthew McGarrity. “Maintaining our facilities in a proactive manner benefits all in our educational community,” he added.
