Talan Schwartz, a student at Arkport High School, received the Co-Special Olympian of the Year Award at this year's Hornell Sports Night.
Talan has participated in the Special Olympics since grade 3. He excels at the race walk, which he won last year. In addition to being a great athlete, he is a supportive teammate, always cheering his friends and classmates on.
Talan’s positive attitude and work ethic can be seen in various settings, such as Arkport High School, Arkport Shurfine, and Tractor Supply where he interns, and in the Arkport community.
In his free time, he loves to sing karaoke with his family, throw summer parties, and socialize with others. After graduation, Talan would like to work in fashion, specifically for Betsey Johnson.
