Dr. Guy Hammond Memorial Scholarship- Steuben County School Districts

Our community lost a special member in the fall of 2022. Dr. Guy Hammond impacted the community in many ways and held great pride in giving back to the youth. Therefore, the Hammond Family will award a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior from Steuben County planning to pursue a higher level of education or enter the workforce who exemplifies characteristics similar to Dr. Hammond’s.

It took true grit for Dr. Hammond to accomplish all that he did throughout his life. His character surrounded three pillars of values: integrity, community, and education. During the day, he cared for animals at Steuben Veterinary Clinic, which he owned and operated on with his wife. At home, he liked to spend time outdoors with his family, whether on the farm or in a tree stand. Dr. Hammond enjoyed being involved within the community through 4-H/FFA, supporting the local schools, participating as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and much more. This mantra of hard work is something he instilled into many youths. He would be honored that this memorial scholarship will support the next generation.

The awarding recipient of the scholarship will be announced at their graduation ceremony. More information about this scholarship will be available in your High School Guidance Office.

Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship

Welcome to the Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program! Whether you are a student, parent, family member, instructor, school administrator, or just interested in STEM education, we are excited to share more about our efforts to support the academic endeavors of learners across the nation.

In January 2020, Lockheed Martin launched the Vocational Scholarship program to support students of all ages participating in skills-based training in cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing fields. The scholarship seeks to fund students pursuing associate degrees, credit-bearing certificates, or industry-recognized credentials in specific disciplines at an accredited vocational technical school, trade school, or two-year community college. Funded in part by tax reform proceeds, the Vocational Scholarship program is a critical component of Lockheed Martin’s investment in workforce development and education.

Lockheed Martin’s Vocational Scholarship Program is the first of its kind within the aerospace and defense industry and awards up to $6,600 to as many as 150 recipients each year. Through the scholarship, Lockheed Martin hopes to encourage students to consider a rewarding career in the technology and advanced manufacturing industry.
