Arkport strikes up a new conversation, starting Feb. 11
On Monday, Feb. 11, Arkport will be starting a communitywide conversation with an online platform called Thoughtexchange™ to help school officials better understand what is important to you, our residents, both on the school and district level.
Thoughtexchange™ is an online learning process that enables us to reach out to everyone affected by the decisions made in the school district. This Exchange gives us an opportunity to hear your thoughts and understand your priorities.
Why start the conversation? A few reasons.
First, many of us still need to process our feelings about last year’s merger vote defeat. Rather than do so in isolation, Thoughtexchange™ will enable us to hold a constructive, respectful communitywide conversation. Second, Arkport must now assess needs, prioritize goals and plot a new path forward. And we can’t do that without understanding all perspectives, including those of school families.
And, finally, we want to keep this momentum going. The energy and enthusiasm that bubbled up in our community as we faced the prospect of major change – well, it was galvanizing and inspiring. Let’s harness that.
You will soon receive an email with an invitation to participate in our first exchange, which flows through three steps:
Share: Answer open-ended questions about education in our schools.
Star: Review ideas from other stakeholders and rate the ideas you like best.
Discover: Learn what is important to the community as a whole.
If you don’t receive this invitation, you can sign up by following the Thoughtexchange™ link on the district home page at www.arkportcsd.org.
Stay tuned for more details, and thanks in advance for your participation!
